Mayor Alejandro Char announced that in a few days, Barranquilleros will be able to enjoy the third phase of the Gran Malecón.
This phase will offer over 30,000 new square meters of experiences for visitors, providing a different sensory immersion thanks to its design, materials, and textures.
Char confirmed this after touring the new spaces that will be available to visitors. They will be able to explore the so-called ‘Native Sector,’ which extends from Calle 72 to the Las Compañías channel, covering a length of approximately one kilometer.
“We are very excited to be here in the third phase — out of four in total — that our Gran Malecón has. I was talking to the residents of the project because in a few days, we, Barranquilleros, will be able to enjoy not only the Shakira statue but also about three hectares of eating spaces; there are also green areas, service areas, bathrooms, a very important sports area, two beach volleyball courts, and a professional beach soccer field,” he said.
This new area is 35,846 square meters, and will focus on nature and green areas.
