Carnival Queens Exhibit now open at Museo del Carnaval

The exhibit by Francisco Gallo pays tribute to former Carnival Queens.

On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the Museo del Carnaval opened a new exhibit in honor of former carnival queens.

Francisco Gallo Charris, holds a degree in Communication and is a Colombian-Argentinian photographer and videographer. Gallo presents his exhibit in homage to the ambassadors of Colombia’s largest celebration, the Carnaval de Barranquilla. The event is organized by the Barranquilla City Hall, the Ministry of Culture, and the Carnival Museum of Barranquilla, with the support of the 1995 Carnival Queen, Katia Nule de Char.

47 photographs adorn this exhibit. Beneath each photo, the crown each queen wore on her coronation day is on display.

Francisco Gallo Charris, is a distinguished Colombian-Argentinian photographer and videographer in the fields of fashion and beauty.

Within the event, homage will be paid to Queens Vicky De Andreis and Julia Carolina De la Rosa, who are celebrating 50 and 25 years of leading Colombia’s grandest celebration.

The Museo del Carnaval is open 7 days a week. Tuesday to Sunday (and Monday if it’s a holiday) from 9am to 4pm. Tickets are $10,000 COP for adults. Children under 12 and seniors pay $7,000 COP. To see the exhibit of former carnival queens, tickets can be purchased on-site or via Tuboleta.
