Ciudad Mallorquín is an inclusive and sustainable housing project aimed at promoting a new mixed-stratum neighborhood. The idea came about from Urban Development Business of Grupo Argos in a strategic area of Puerto Colombia.

Ciudad Mallorquín will be located near the north of Barranquilla, in the area known as Corredor Universitario. The southern most point of the new neighborhood is along Carrera 53. This will provide convenient access to supermarkets, educational institutions, shopping centers, and healthcare facilities. The new neighborhood will be located near the Ciénaga de Mallorquín Ecopark that is currently under construction.

The project has been conscientiously designed to meet the highest standards of quality in urban planning. It ensures the creation of adaptable and sustainable infrastructure by nurturing a profound sense of belonging among its future inhabitants.

Encompassing an expansive area of more than 50 hectares, the project envisions the establishment of a 6.2-hectare urban park. This park is destined to evolve into the green heart of the emerging neighborhood, guided by a core principle of preserving the existing natural environment. The initiative also encompasses the integration of bike lanes and expansive sidewalks, effectively advocating for sustainable mobility options.

This urbanization project involves joint investments of COP 2.4 trillion over a 10-year period, making a significant contribution to the regional economy and generating more than 2,000 jobs annually during the construction phase.

On Tuesday, June 6th, construction began on the new Ciudad Mallorquín Park. The park will feature tennis courts, beach volleyball, basketball and soccer courts. It will also have playgrounds, an outdoor gym, a dog park, and work spaces, among other facilities.

The following builders are involved with the project: Bolívar, Marval, Conaco, Amarilo, Colpatria, Apiros, Conaltura, Prodesa, and Arquitectura y Concreto. In addition, at this stage the neighborhood has been assigned estrato 3 and 4 depending on the development.

The estrato 3 developments have a price tag starting at around $150,000,000 COP.

The current developments assigned estrato 4 are: Mallorca by Constructora Bolivar and Fidano by Conaco.

The other projects available have been assigned estrato 3.
