Colombia’s AfroDancehall music festival returns to Barranquilla with their Killa Fest Carnival Edition 2024 on February 11th. The event will take place at Casa Beraka, via Sabanilla, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

This edition aims to surprise all Afrolovers with an innovative proposal, especially catering to carnival enthusiasts.

“For several consecutive years, we have organized Afrodancehall Killa Fest during the holiday season, and as always, we listen to our audience. Maira Afanador, Commercial Manager of Afrodancehall Killa Fest, stated, “Carnival enthusiasts love Afro and dancehall music, and people requested a carnival edition because, during these festivities, Barranquilla is immersed in Afro culture, and we provide that cultural experience.”

Afanador disclosed details about what this Carnival Edition will entail: “We have drawn inspiration for everything in this edition from the carnival.” That’s why our stage design this year pays tribute to these celebrations. Additionally, we will have the participation of folk groups and parades to accompany the event because we want all our attendees to live the Carnival experience.”

For this edition, the festival will feature performances by international and national artists, including Mr. Fox, the Panamanian singer known for hits like “Tumba Tuka,” “Ese movimiento,” and “Shorcito blanco” – dancehall successes that have resonated throughout Colombia.

The following DJs have been confirmed: Dj Ayane, Jader Tremendo, Danner Dan Dan, Tavo Dj, Jeffrey Sai, Dj Jac, Harry Torres, Mr. Anthony, Dj Knox, Dj Blackie, Dj Morro, Pacho Dj, Dj Bigdress, and Dj Kmilo. All these artists will share the stage to elevate the temperature at Afrodancehall Killa Fest: Carnival Edition 2024.

The Carnival Edition – a unique experience

The festival expects to gather at least 6,000 spectators who are devoted to rhythms like Dancehall, Afro Beat, Reggae, Shatta, among others. Afrodancehall Killa Fest’s main purpose is the rescue and preservation of the Afro culture of our Colombian Caribbean.

Moreover, for this event, the festival has decided to provide the best possible experience for attendees. Afrolovers will find experience centers available throughout the festival, thanks to the collaborative effort of the Afrondancehall Fest staff and various event sponsors.

For this edition, Afrodancehall Killa Fest will feature a second stage with additional artists, live music, and a pool party, making this edition truly unique. This area will be available throughout the event and exclusively for attendees with VIP tickets.

Afrodancehall has become one of the most robust cultural industries in the Colombian Caribbean. Year after year, it gains more ground in the country’s music festivals, becoming a unique reference in its style that transcends national borders, attracting foreign audiences every year.
