Colombian Cinema Day Returns on September 25, 2023, with $6,000 COP movie tickets.
The film industry has experienced an increase in its sales in 2023 in Colombia. As a result, companies dedicated to the distribution and screening of national and international films in the country have decided to celebrate Colombian Cinema Day, a day when all tickets will have a price of 6,000 pesos.
This will be the second event of this kind this year since on February 13th, cinemas came together to screen movies throughout the day for 5,000 pesos, 1,000 pesos less than the ticket price for this occasion. However, this marks a significant discount from the regular ticket price, which typically hovers around 15,500 pesos.
Although the President and CEO of Cine Colombia, Munir Falah, had previously stated that Colombian Cinema Day would be celebrated again in Colombia, it wasn’t until the afternoon of August 28th that Falah revealed the date of this edition.
When is Cinema Day?
“The Cinematic Industry will always be grateful to its audience. The year has exceeded our expectations. In gratitude, a single price all day, Monday, September 25, 2023: $6,000. All Cinemas, All Screens, All Movies,” Munir Salah tweeted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Interested individuals will be able to purchase tickets for any of the movies available in theaters in their preferred format (2D, 3D, 4D) and any location, whether general or preferential. However, this is subject to seat availability in different theaters.
It’s worth noting that although the news was confirmed by the CEO of Cine Colombia, this will not be an exclusive promotion of the company. Other theater chains such as Royal Films, Cinépolis, Cinemark, Cineland, and Cinema Procinal will also join this initiative.
