BarranquiJazz Festival 2024

The Barranquijazz Festival, one of the most prominent Latin jazz events in Colombia and the Caribbean, is making its return in September 2024. Since its launch in 1997, the festival has been held annually during the second week of September. Its main objective is to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of jazz and regional music, blending African and Caribbean rhythms such as Cuban beats, salsa, mambo, bolero, charanga, cha-cha-cha, and more.

Organized by the Cultural Foundation Nueva Música, the festival has been led by Samuel Minski for over 12 years. While performances are usually spread across multiple venues, this year’s highlights will take place at Teatro José Consuegra and the Malecon del Río. In addition, several free events will be hosted throughout the city at various locations during the festival.
